I am a long time user of Shutterfly and a previous user of Kodak Photo Gallery. Recent changes to the Shutterfly site has made it very difficult to share photos to a large group of people. Previously, you were able to create a link to a Shutterfly album and send it through your own e-mail account to a group of people. If you are part of a club and want to share your album with the club members, this was a very easy process. They recently removed that capability and even the previously created links can no longer be accessed. In order to share photos from Shutterfly, you now need to explicitly enter the individual e-mail addresses in Shutterfly. For a 400+ member club, this just does not work. I've contacted support about this thinking that there was a bug. I pointed out that the support page says:

You can share photos using a link. Just select the photos you wish to share, then click the Share tab and choose “Link”. We’ll generate a specific link for these photos for you. Copy this link, then create your own email with recipient(s) and paste the link in the body of the email. Shutterfly members will be able to view and download the photos, or save them to their account;

I also explicitly said that the download and save functionality no longer works from a shared link. I got the run around from customer support. This is the best that the can offer:

This link gives "view only" access. If you want your recipients to be able to save the albums to their account, you will have to send the emails from the pop up box in your account after choosing the share option, enter each individual email address, and give each person rights as a contributor.

If I only had a handful of people that I want to share photos with, this would not be a big deal. That is very much not the case. I will be moving away from Shutterfly.

In summary, I would not recommend Shutterfly to a friend.
