DropShot is an easy-use photo sharing website which allows you to quickly upload and share your pictures with a few clicks of a button. It offers free and Premium membership for a low price, with a couple of extra features which set it apart from other sites in this price-range.
Firstly, Drop Shot offers its members two packages to choose from. Its Basic membership is free, allowing you to upload up to 500 photos and 20 videos (2 minute maximum). There are also privacy settings to access. However, you can find free photo sharing websites which offer a greater capacity and more options. Meanwhile, upgrading to Premium membership costs around $5 per month, which is good value for money. You can upload unlimited videos (up to 10 minutes each) and photos, without having to worry about compressing files and losing out on quality.
We were glad to see that the site offered most of the basic tools we were looking for. This includes a photo editing (or enhancement) tool, which allows you to sharpen an image, play with colors, crop out the sides and more. You can also organize your albums automatically by date, or organize them manually if you want to create sets based on particular themes or ideas.
If you plan on using the site for video storage, then that’s possible. However, you can find websites which offer 20 minute video uploads, whereas the Premium membership on Dropshots.com provides storage for up to 10 minutes per video. The site doesn’t indicate a maximum size for photo uploads, but we had no trouble uploading any of our snaps.
Currently, the site doesn’t offer any gifts or print options, although they claim to be adding print options soon. To follow the latest updates you can check out the site’s unique blog, where you can read articles on photography. We were also happy to discover that this site offers a commenting option, so you can leave your thoughts about someone’s photo, and they can say which of your images they prefer too.
If you need help, there is a searchable FAQ or Premium members can submit a ticket and wait for a response from the customer services team. This could be improved on, as the FAQ might not have all the answers non-Premium members require, so they’re left somewhat in the dark.
For around $5 per month, DropShots performs better than some of its similarly-priced competitors. However, it is still not fully able to compete with its superior peers, with fewer tools and smaller upload allowances, particularly for videos.
