Share.pho.to narrowly missed a place among our top ten photo sharing websites, but that doesn’t mean that you should pass it by without a second thought. This website is free to use and allows you to easily upload multiple photos, with a great range of easy-use editing tools. You can also extract photos from your profile on social networking sites such as Facebook, or share your photos once they’ve been edited on Share.pho.to.
We were most impressed by the editing tools on this site. You simply choose a photo from your computer, from Facebook or from another URL, and the system does all the work. If you want to remove blemishes or sort out the lighting on your snaps, you can do this with one simple click. Editing is quick and subtle. That said, not all of the edits are perfect and if you look at them in detail, particularly changes on human faces (such as clarifying skin) then you might notice that editing has occurred. Still, you can adjust this manually if you choose.
The site offers mobile apps if you’d like to use it on your iPhone or iPad, and you can also use all the services without ever having to register. Even then, registration is quick and easy, requiring a minimal amount of information. You have a profile with a photo, although this isn’t taken much further because there are no community features to speak of.
If you do register, then your photos will be stored forever. However, the site can be lacking information in places and we weren’t able to find out how much storage each member will receive. The FAQ lets you know how to upload and edit, but it’s not necessarily easy to locate the information you’re looking for.
If you enjoy having fun with photos then you can include borders and frames, stickers, writing and more, which livens them up. You can explore the fun elements easily, since they are categorized to help you locate particular topics (such as love, art, sexy, birthdays and weddings). These can then be used as e-cards. Despite this, there are no purchase options for gifts or prints, so you’ll have to take your edited photos to another website if you’d like hard copies.
There is a variety of free software available if you wish to have a little more control over editing your photographs. This includes a photo editor, screen saver designer and album designer.
Share PhoTo is easy to use, with some fun tools to edit and share your photos. What’s more, it’s free. If it only expanded some of its services and had a few more storage and sharing options, it’d be flying high in our top ten.
