I used JAlbum for at least a decade. Always hosted it on my own. Loved it. It's a full featured photo site creator that's as simple, or complex, as you choose. I then switched to JAlbum hosting and it was/is terrible. Very slow image loading (max image size 500 mb). Not dial-up speeds but slow like I haven't seen for at least 10 years. I'm moving on as I have not desire to go back to providing hosting.

Note: I used JAlbum's servers for 2 years. They were consistently slow.

In summary, I would not recommend Jalbum to a friend.

I wanted mainly to have a photo and short video sharing website as our family lives on the other side of the world.

I created a number of albums, but the photos on your computer are then also stored as JAlbum pictures in another directory so on my Macbook Air with its SSD drive, this took huge amounts space.
Worse,mfor my family who want to look at the photos the download speed is dramatically slow on the JAlbum servers.

I am looking for another service, but have already paid as a Power user till June 2015 !

In summary, I would recommend Jalbum to a friend.

I bought a premium membership for this site to display my graphic design and art portfolios online. It has good display templates and makes everything look nice BUT
for a period of three months I COULD NOT UPLOAD ANYTHING. There is NO WAY to contact customer service and I tried looking at forums compressing, changing formats, changing settings, changing computers and I'm pretty sure the problem is on their end.

Now, it will allow me to edit my page and upload images, and they appear as I want them to on the edit screen, but the changes are not reflected on my site.
I am using this as a professional portfolio to get jobs, and with design you are always noticing things that you want to tighten up or change, and it's crucial to be able to make changes.

So I guess this site is fine if you just need a place to dump pictures, but if you want to use a site for professional purposes, look elsewhere.

In summary, I would not recommend Jalbum to a friend.
