Shutterfly is moving in the wrong direction

I am a long time user of Shutterfly and a previous user of Kodak Photo Gallery. Recent changes to the Shutterfly site has made it very difficult to share photos to a large group of people. Previously, you were able to create a link to a Shutterfly album and send it through your own e-mail account to a group of people. If you are part of a club and want to share your album with the club members, this was a very easy process. They recently removed that capability and even the previously created links can no longer be accessed. In order to share photos from Shutterfly, you now need to explicitly enter the individual e-mail addresses in Shutterfly. For a 400+ member club, this just does not work. I've contacted support about this thinking that there was a bug. I pointed out that the support page says:

You can share photos using a link. Just select the photos you wish to share, then click the Share tab and choose “Link”. We’ll generate a specific link for these photos for you. Copy this link, then create your own email with recipient(s)... (Read the full review)

Not what it used to be

I originally joined the Kodak on-line photo site that was later sold to Shutterfly and have been using these sites for over 10 years. I loved both with nearly 100,000 pictures uploaded and posted to multiple share sites. Recent upgrades to Shutterfly have made it very frustrating. Constant crashes while uploading photos and pages that take long periods to load have me looking to dump Shutterfly for another service. Support has been non-existent. After 3 months I still have received any responses to my concerns or resolutions to the problems. Prints have always been good with a wide variety of products available. Unfortunately, I don't have time to waste time repeatedly trying to get my pictures uploaded. If they'd fix it, I'd stay. As a volunteer photographer for our local high school I take pictures of the sporting events and have 100s of students and parents using the share sites to view and order pictures. Please bring back the old Shutterfly!

In summary, I would not recommend Shutterfly to a friend.

I ma looking for something unique feature in the site. I want something cool like the feature of https://www.jetpic.com .. When I am uploading my pictures, people inside the network will eventually rate my photo transparently! This is actually cool for models, teens and people who are looking for perfection to what they will submit or upload as their portfolios or profile pictures. Its also free of charge and that's the coolest thing about it!

In summary, I would not recommend Shutterfly to a friend.

Shutterfly is my go-to site for photo gifts

I've created four books and two calendars so far in the past four years. I also discovered recently that I can make Shutterfly a Roku "channel" and view my albums on my big TV. Whooot! It's like the good old days of the slideshow carousel... only better. The navigation for uploading is really easy, but the navigation for creating a project can be a bit complicated. Right now it's easy and free... and you can't beat that price.

In summary, I would recommend Shutterfly to a friend.

Lost all my albums

I had about 10-15 albums with kodakgallery.com. When the latter went out of business, they were all migrated over to Shutterfly. Everything went swimmingly, and the site was very easy to use - and then in June this year I discovered that all my albums had disappeared, except those I had created in the last year. I had several email conversations with them, but they eventually reverted back to automated responses. Never once did I get an apology, or even any real interest. This was a disaster for me, and I am now looking for another site. I will NEVER use Shutterfly again.

In summary, I would not recommend Shutterfly to a friend.
